New products for my anti-aging skin care routine.
Safer skincare: wrinkles
If you’ve been following me for the last few weeks, you’ll know that I’ve joined team Beautycounter. I mean it when I say I’ve been in contact with Beautycounter for years. It was hard for me to pull the trigger – time was never on my side to add something else onto my plate. But over the holiday break I decided it was time. And I’m finally glad I did.
If you want to hear more about the company, its mission, values and why I joined, scroll down.
My first purchase with Beautycounter was to test some products that would hopefully help the fine lines and wrinkles that have been showing up this year (does this mean I’m getting old??). It sounds vain, but they’ve really been bugging me. The integrity of my skin just seems a little … less than.
On the top of my test list was the No. 2 Plumping Facial Mask. I have seen so many of my favorite bloggers use and love this product, so I knew I had to try it.
No. 2 Plumping Facial Mask product description: Made with deeply cleansing kaolin clay, this nutrient-rich mask instantly gives skin a firm, toned look and more youthful appearance. Plumping peony root helps restore skin’s elasticity, while konjac root smooths the appearance of fine lines.
So, real talk. I LOVE a good face mask. Seriously. It’s one of my favorite beauty care routines. Maybe because it forces me to chill. Needless to say, I needed this new mask.
Fast forward to my test week. Guys, it’s awesome. The product page, states (and I verified):
In an independent consumer study, after two weeks of use*:
86% said skin felt soft, moisturized and was improved – AGREED (after my second application)
83% said skin looked and felt smoother.- YEP
In an independent consumer study, after 4 weeks of use*:
96% said skin felt soft and moisturized – AGREED
90% said skin was improved – AGREED
83% said skin looked and felt smoother, and was more supple – AGREED
All of the reviews were spot on. My skin felt rejuvenated. The wrinkle-problem areas (forehead and eyes) felt less thin and weak and more moisturized and full. I mean, who doesn’t want that?
It’s probably my new favorite product that I’ve added to my anti-wrinkle skin care routine. Here are the other players:
safer skincare: wrinkles & anti-wrinkle skin care routine
- Derma-e Vitamin C concentrated serum
- Cocokind Chia Seed Oil
- Andalou Naturals Dermal Filler
- No. 2 Plumping Facial Mask

To get safer products into the hands of everyone.
I have spent years cleaning up my diet and feel confident that I am eating what my body needs and wants to function optimally. I’ve also spent years strengthing my body. What I felt I was missing was cleaning up my skincare and makeup routine. How could I invest all this time in money on my diet and fitness and skip over investing in what goes on (and in) my largest organ — my skin?! That’s my why.
Interestingly enough, I always found this statistic compelling: The United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.
And we wonder why we’re having more skin issues, premature aging, disease and hormonal disregulation….
If you’re curious about Beautycounter, I’d be happy to answer any questions. Send them my way.
